Nylon Rod

Nylon is a generic designation for a family of synthetic polymers known generically as polyamides and first produced in 1935 by Wallace Carothers at DuPont and was developed as a totally synthetic substitute for silk and is one of the most commonly used polymers. It has has high strength, excellent resilience, superior abrasion resistance and high flexibility. Nylon is crystalline in nature and the two most common grades of nylon are Nylon 6 and Nylon 6/6.

The exceptional bearing and wear properties of Nylon make it one of the most widely used plastics in the world. Nylon is frequently used as a replacement for bronze, brass, aluminum, steel and other metals, as well as other plastics, wood, and rubber. Nylon sheet is one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics and can be purchased as extruded or cast forms.

• Nylon sheet has good heat resistance, excellent wear resistance;
• Nylon sheet has good chemical resistance. Requires UV stabilization;
• Nylon sheet can be processed/machined easily;

Industry Applications
Can be machined for scientific, laboratory, military & government specifications. Machine shops for guide rollers, gears.
