Teflon Film & Tape

Teflon tape is a common, inexpensive and effective thin white tape used to seal pipe threads being joined together for plumbing purposes. It is used to seal water, air, gas from leaking through threaded connections. Technically, known as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) it is silky in texture and breaks in a stringy manner (strong in tension). Sold in small rolls the standard color is white. A quick, convenient thread sealant made of 100% TFE fluorocarbon. A chemically inert, nonhardening, non-contaminating permanent seal able to withstand temperatures from -450° F to +600° F.
