Ultem® Rod & Plate

Ultem® 1000 PEI (unfilled) & Ultem® 1000 (standard, unfilled polyetherimide - PEI) - Ultem Sheets & Rods offer excellent chemical resistance, high dielectric strength, natural flame resistance, and extremely low smoke generation. Ultem provides exceptionally high mechanical properties and ease of fabrication including bonding make it an easy choice when exceptional performance is required. Ultem® 1000 is a registered tradename of General Electric.

Ultem Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous thermoplastic that is manufactured from G.E. Plastics’ ULTEM resin. Because it offers superior resistance to autoclave sanitizing and is FDA/USDA and USP class VI compliant. This material also offers electronic and semi-conductor designers unmatched dielectric properties that are maintained over a wide frequency range. Unfilled ULTEM PEI is dark amber in color and semi-transparent. For applications that require improved stiffness, glass fiber filled grades with filler levels of 10%-40% are available but 30% glass is what is mostly widely available. ULTEM PEI stock shapes are UL V-0 rated and available in a full range of heavy gauge rod, plate and tubular bar sizes.
